History

Oh Yeah. That kick-ass

Sothern Rock Band From

Southern ILLINOIS.

I remember those guys: Hell There's been more than a few.

Doug Lynch has been HARD KNOX since 1976. A group of guys started it all back in late 1976.

Rehearsing in what was called the "CHICKEN COUPE". In Feb. 1977 they started playing in any

Honky - Tonk. Party Benefit, Ect...... They could play. The played Honky - Tonks for $100.00 a night

and free booze. They about drank places dry. That's what they liked, Parting, Playing music, and Drinking.

After about a year some of the Good Ol' Boys moved on: some stayed. They Played year after year anytime,

anywhere. "The Music Grows In your Soul." Stated Doug.

Doug started playing music when he was 8 years old. He was sick and didn't have anything else to do.

So he started playing. This new found love of music carried on and so he kept playing. By 1982 he was

ready to head to Arizona. Phoenix in particular. Where There's always a party going on, A bar on every

corner, and there's a hell of a lot of corners. It was southern rock heaven. The rest of the band didn't want

to make the move. So Doug loaded up and headed out west with a big dream.

Once he got to Arizona Doug was looking to play when he met Michael Vincent. Mike played guitar, had

a P.A. System, but he didn't play in public. After one hell of a long talk, HARD KNOX had more than one

member with a dream. They practiced for two weeks and started playing live again. " It's the love of the

music that keeps you going." says Doug.

In 1984 at Pantheon Studio, Hard Knox recorded a 45 " ROCK-N-ROLL MAN" and flipside "GOODBYE."

Michael Bruce of ALICE COOPER produced the record.

Hard Knox played Phoenix, Scottsdale, Page, Tempe, Mesa, Prescott, Flagstaff, and Tucson in Arizona.

They also played the Denver Colorado circuit.

In 1986 Hard Knox Recorded the sound track " BOARD RIDERS" For the WALKER SKATEBOARD movie

License to skate part 1 " the basics".

Sound Board voted Hard Knox SOUTHERN ROCK BAND OF THE YEAR in 1986. The Same year they

released their album " Released at Last".

HARD KNOX opened for BLACKFOOT, MOLLY HATCHET, ROSSINGTON, BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, and

others in ARIZONA. They played benefits, toy-runs, and food drives for A.B.A.T.E., MDA, and for

CHILDREN WITH HEAD INJURIES. " It's good to help someone in need, could be you next time." says Doug.

HARD KNOX was to open for THE OUTLAWS at Rockers in Phoenix. Two days before the opening Doug

received word that his dad had a heart attack. Doug cancelled the booking and went home. His dad is one

of his heroes. Doug stayed in Lawrenceville and with time, his dad got better.

HARD KNOX had been playing music in the tri-state area (Southern IL., IN., and Northern Ky.) over the years

and had went through several band members. Then Doug reunited with Dennis Dunlap ( an original HARD

KNOX member). They had not played together since HARD KNOX started. When they put on an acoustic

show, it was just old friends jammin!

In 1998 at Sheffield Studio, Hessville, Indiana, HARD KNOX recorded " HARD KNOX " their self-titled CD.

At Sheffield Studio in 2000 HARD KNOX recorded " ROLL THE DICE ". Roll The Dice was Recorded with

Eric McCullough (Drums) and Frank Wirth (Bass), A young man who will be one of the best.

" Thanks Frank".

Today with all of the changes over the years Doug will tell you his music is what keeps him going. It's a

lasting love running through his viens. Doug loves all music. He says to jam with Charlie Daniels and

B.B. King is a dream of his.

" Thanks to family, friends, and fans that have stuck with HARD KNOX through all these years. Thank

god for the talent and my love of music". " I'm not done yet. I'm still looking for the big one". " Thanks

to the new generation who are giving their support for the love of music". " We're still playing and loving

it". " Some say music is like fine wine, It just gets better with time". DOUG LYNCH.
